New York Boulders News Release
(Ramapo, N.Y.) - Teddy Nowell pitched six shut out innings, holding the Boulders to only two hits as the Grand Prairie AirHogs took three out of four from Rockland with an 8-3 win Thursday night.
The AirHogs' offense exploded for 17 hits, using a balanced attack to win its eleventh game in twelve tries.
After a quiet first two innings, the AirHogs found the scoreboard first when Greg Porter singled to bring home Bryan Frichter. Grand Prairie would not let up as the AirHogs added a run in the next two consecutive innings to make the score 3-0. Boulders starter Pat Moran left the game after four surrendering two runs and striking out four.
Grand Prairie put the game away with a three run seventh inning. Singles from Fricther and right fielder Kenny Held made the tally 6-0 AirHogs.
Rockland scratched across two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, including a solo home run from Ryan Scoma to get within five runs, but that's as close as they got.
The Boulders finish their ten-game homestand with a three game series against Quebec this weekend. Tomorrow's start time is 7:05 p.m. and $1 beers will be sold through the end of the seventh inning at Provident Bank Park.
