New York Boulders News Release
The Rockland Boulders dropped a heartbreaker to the New Jersey Jackals Saturday night, allowing 4 runs in a wild bottom of the ninth. Kevin Krause homered in the fourth to open the scoring for Rockland. Conrad Gregor knocked in Marcus Nidiffer with a double and Mikael Mogues brought Gregor around with a single, making it 3-1 Boulders.
However, the bottom of the ninth was nothing short of nightmarish. The Jackals recorded four hits off Matt Kostalos in relief of Nick Kennedy. Seth Spivey's walk-off 3-run homer was the nail in the coffin, capping an improbable comeback to down the Boulders. Travis Hissong threw six innings of one-run ball to begin the afternoon for Rockland. Mat Latos and Ryan Deemes, who did not even pitch in the game, were both ejected in the sixth inning.
