
Boulders End Losing Streak With Win Over Capitales

Pomona, N.Y. - The New York Boulders broke their 4-game losing streak following their win on Friday at Clover Stadium, beating the Quebec Capitales by a score of 3-2. Pat Kivlehan knocked in an RBI double in the bottom of the 8th bringing David Vinsky home and tying the game at 2. Kivlehan then scored on an error from Capitales shortstop Kyle Crowl, giving the Boulders the 3-2 lead. July Sosa had an outstanding performance, striking out 12 batters in 7.2 innings. Sosa gave up 7 hits and 2 runs. Dawson Lane and Dylan Smith came in for relief. Lane was the winning pitcher, he is now 2-1. Dylan Smith collected his first save of the season for the Boulders. Kyle Mott was the losing pitcher and now has a record of 0-1 The Boulders improve to 3-4 on the season, Quebec is now 2-5 following their loss. New York and Quebec will play their second of the 3-game set on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Clover Stadium.
