
Boulders Can't Complete Rally

The Newark Bears jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead in the first inning and held on to claim a 10-9 win in a shootout with the Rockland Boulders. Newark SS Bridger Hunt (pictured) kick started the offense with a grand slam in the opening frame. He finished the night going 3-for-4 and scored two runs of his own. RF Carlos Guzman also scored two runs and added three RBI. LF Jamar Walton had a strong day offensively as well going 2-for-4 and scoring three times. For the Boulders LF Chris Edmondson led the way with three hits in four at bats and had two RBI. Rockland C Scott Knazek had two RBI as well. Reliever Leandro Mello earned the win for pitching 1.2 innings despite allowing two runs on two hits.
