OTTAWA - Sebastien Boucher had two hits, two walks, and four RBI in an 8-3 statement win over the Quebec Capitales to kick off a road trip Tuesday night.

With the 2-for-4 day, Boucher is now batting .380 on the season. He vaults into the Can-Am League lead for batting average, passing Sussex County's Martin Figueroa.

After Boucher drove in the game's opening run in the top of the first, the Capitales responded with a knock of their own via a sac fly from James McOwen. That tied the game at 1-1 until Ottawa was able to pull away with back-to-back multi run innings.

In the fifth, Boucher was intentionally walked in favour of Steve Brown, but the Colombian outfielder made the Capitales pay by drawing a bases-loaded walk to give the Champions their go-ahead run. Coco Johnson was then able to score on a ground ball off the bat of Jordan Caillouet to give the Champions a 3-1 lead at the end of the inning.

Four more Champions runners would cross the plate in the sixth, preserving the team's victory. The team batted around in an inning that included many highlights, including a Boucher double that scored two base runners.

Austin Chrismon (W, 3-2) was in line for the win after tossing seven solid innings of six-hit baseball. He also earns a quality start.

The Champions are in the midst of a six-game road trip. After this three-game set with the Capitales, the team will then travel to Sussex County to play the Miners on the weekend.

When Ottawa returns home, the international series also returns to RCGT Park! Ottawa plays Team Dominican Republic June 19-21, with the Caribbean team re-joining the Can-Am League for a second season. Tickets for this series and the rest of the Champions schedule are available at www.ottawachampions.com, or by calling 613-745-BALL (2255).
