Boston's Goaltender Cosmo Named Defensive Player of the Week

Boston, MA (February 16, 2011) Boston Blazers goaltender Anthony Cosmo was named the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Defensive Player of the Week today for his stand-out performance against the Colorado Mammoth last Saturday evening.
Cosmo led Boston in an 11-6 win over the Mammoth as he recorded 38 saves on 44 shots on goal. Cosmo also held Colorado to just one goal in the first half of the game. With Cosmo defending the pipes, the Blazers have held their third straight opponent to an under double digit final score.
Through eight games, the three-time NLL All-Star and 2007 Goaltender of the Year has a 0.786 save percentage, 253 saves on 322 shots on goal, and a 8.74 GAA.
Cosmo and the Blazers travel to the Xcel Energy Center this Saturday, February 19th at 8:30pm as they take on the Minnesota Swarm on the road. The Blazers return home to the TD Garden on Sunday, March 6th at 5:00pm as they battle the Buffalo Bandits.
