WATERTOWN, Mass. - The Boston Breakers open up preseason Monday, March 14 in preparation for the 2016 NWSL season.

Under new head coach Matt Beard, the Breakers will train for 10 days in Massachusetts before departing for Jacksonville, Fla. for an eight-day preseason trip.

The Breakers preseason roster features 12 returning players from the 2015 team, including last year's leading scorer, midfielder Kristie Mewis, 2015 Breakers Rookie of the Year Stephanie McCaffrey, as well as veterans Katie Schoepfer, Julie King, and Mollie Pathman.

Amongst the new faces in camp are offseason acquisitions Brooke Elby, Sinead Farrelly, Angela Salem, Louise Schillgard, Libby Stout, and McCall Zerboni.

U.S. Women's National Team defender Whitney Engen is expected to arrive in Boston on Wednesday, and Australian striker Kyah Simon is due in town Monday, March 21.

Training continues this week at ForeKicks in Taunton, Mass. The Breakers have their first scrimmage of the season on Sunday, March 20, a match against Northeastern University at Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass.
