Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

January 29, 2006. Montreal, Canada: The Boston Frenzy bounced back from a 35 point loss to the Montreal Matrix on Friday by defeating the Matrix on Sunday 102-93, garnering their second win under new management.

Frenzy coach Angel Robinson utilized a three guard lineup to help Boston deal with Montreal's full court press by inserting Montreal native Korran Rivers into the game. Rivers came huge for the Frenzy with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks including a 3 point runner from just over half court to beat the 3rd quarter buzzer.

"That shot was huge for us because it countered a run Montreal was making at the time and gave our guys a boost mentally", explained Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy. "We're thrilled to get a road win, but our hats go off to the Montreal team. They were great hosts during our three day stay, and for their guys to have to play three games in three days was tough....and it still took us everything we had to hold on."

The Frenzy's star forward, Alexus Foyle, dominated the contest with 37 points while shooting 65% from the field on an array of rim attacks and turnaround jumpshots. Foyle also tallied 11 rebounds and 5 steals.

Guards Matt Alosa and Sly McIntosh scored 18 points a piece for Boston.

Montreal was led by ABA All Star selection, Mannix Auriantal with 30 points.

The Frenzy shot 54% from the field while holding the Matrix to 31%. The Matrix shot 33 free throws to Boston's 10.

Boston's next opponent is the Buffalo Rapids on Friday night in New York.

"The Matrix players were shocked to see us come out with such intensity; I heard their guards say to each other ‘they've come to give us a game!'. We showed the ABA that we can compete. We showed that we have character, pride, and we can play hard. But most of all we showed that we have heart! I am proud of our team", exclaimed Frenzy assistant coach Angel Robinson Jr.
