Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish (13-18) fell to the Bombers at home by a final score of 7-5. The loss is the third straight and completes the series sweep for Battle Creek.

Charlie Hecht had an excellent bounce-back performance from his last start. He pitched 6 innings, allowed 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and punched out 7. His efforts were not enough, however, as he took the loss and is now 1-2 on the year.

Ty Harris relieved him, and had a rough 7th inning but was able to recover. He threw the game's final three innings, allowing 4 runs. Daniel Jipping had the game's biggest highlight as he smashed a 3 run home run to left off of Harris in the 7th.

Offensively, Bombers starter Jordan Horak held the Kingfish lineup in check. Horak carried a no-hitter into the 6th, which was broken up by a Pat McInerney RBI double. In the 7th, the Kingfish were able to pick up 4 runs, highlighted by a Blake Reese 2-RBI single.

On the night, the Kingfish hitters could only muster a combined 4 hits, but were able to draw 6 walks. The Kingfish will host Rockford tomorrow for a doubleheader. Game 1 begins at 4:05 to resume a game that was rained out in Rockford earlier in the season. Game 2 starts a half hour after the conclusion of game 1.
