Wausau, WIS - The Wisconsin Woodchucks (13-18) are fell to the Duluth Huskies (16-16), 8-5, in extra innings at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

After trailing 5-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, the 'Chucks got a run from Connor Heady (Kentucky), who scored on a catcher's balk to bring them within one.

Then, with two outs and runners at first and second, George Janca (Texas A&M) singled to center, scoring Mac Caples (Virginia Tech). The ball got away from the Duluth center fielder momentarily, and Steele Walker (Oklahoma) broke for home, only to be thrown out just short of winning the game for the Woodchucks.

The first three 'Chucks runs came in the third inning when Caples singled, stole second and score the Woodchucks' first run. Walker drove in Caples and came around to score himself. Janca scored as well after one of his three hits in the game.

Scott Parker (San Francisco) started for the 'Chucks and gave up three runs over 6 1/3 innings while striking out six. He did not get a decision.

Evy Ruibal (Notre Dame) took the loss.

The Woodchucks are back in action at Athletic Park tomorrow (Saturday, July 2) against Green Bay. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Order your tickets today by calling 715.845.5055 or going online to woodchucks.com.
