Bryan/College Station, TX - After a pair of rest days, the Bombers bats took time to wake up against the pitchers for the Cane Cutters. The club trailed by a pair of runs early, but rallied in the later innings to return to the win column and go to 15-8 overall.

The Bombers fell behind early as the Cane Cutters scored first in the second inning off a home run by Rhett McCall. The Cane Cutters would then double their lead in the 5th, scoring on a single and ending the night of Bombers starting pitcher Brad Verel. Verel was effective, but the Bombers bullpen stepped up and shut down the Cane Cutters for the rest of the night.

The big inning for the Bombers came in the seventh inning, when the club put a 6 run total up on the scoreboard. Cole Coker was the catalyst for the rally, hitting a double to jumpstart the inning and then knocking in the 6th run of the inning on a RBI single. The Bombers were able to attribute much of their success towards plate discipline and putting pressure on the Cane Cutters pitchers by keeping the runners in motion. The Bombers would add an insurance run with a RBI single from Zach Iverson to push the lead to 7-2, before the Cane Cutters would get one run in the 9th to arrive at the final of 7-3.

The Bombers return tomorrow against the Cane Cutters for 90s Night at the Ballpark, which will also include a fireworks show post game. The Bombers then head on the road before returning June 30th to Travis Field.
