Bryan-College Station, TX - The Brazos Valley Bombers (5-3) lost a close game to the East Texas Pumpjacks (4-4) 3-2 in extra innings at Driller Park in Kilgore, Texas.

"We came up short tonight," said Curtis Dixon, Bombers head coach. "We did some things uncharacteristic of us. We just have to execute and go back to our approach."

The Bombers got out to an early 2-0 lead, capitalizing on a pair of wild pitches that brought in Trenton Hill and G.R. Hinsley in the third and fourth innings respectively. In the bottom of the fifth, East Texas tied the game, knotting the score at 2-2 until extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th the Pumpjacks managed to get two runners in scoring position with a leadoff double and a sacrifice bunt. Pumpjacks second baseman Drew McLaughlin then hit a walkoff single, handing the Bombers their third loss this season.

The Bombers took a dip in offensive production, having only two total hits after an 11-hit outing Friday night against the Victoria Generals.

"The good thing is we get to play tomorrow and see how we respond," Dixon said. "We were faced with this a couple nights ago against Victoria and came back out and responded."

Sunday the Bombers will rematch the Pumpjacks at 7:05 p.m. at Driller Park. After the two game series against East Texas, the Bombers will finish their road trip with a two game series against the Woodlands Strykers at Strykers Stadium. The Bombers will return home on June 12th to play a four-game home stance.
