The environment was electric as Brazos Valley fought till the end to obtain the hard earned victory! The Bombers hosted the Victoria Generals this evening in their first matchup of the season. Brazos Valley dominated defensively, keeping momentum during the whole game, ultimately keeping it close and putting lots of pressure on the General batters to get hits. The talented pitching staff was not allowing many of those on this Friday night with big performances by Kaden Crawford and Zach Williams.

Maddox Miesse was definitely one of the biggest stars of tonight's game as he dominated the infield in quick reactive throws and making big plays tracking down hard hit balls. The third baseman had momentum from the start with a good throw to first in the first inning and soon after in the second making a diving catch that could've easily gone through the gap. Young fans were eager for autographs from the athlete especially after he smoked a ball deep to left field in the fifth advancing runners on base. Late in the seventh the athlete tied the game 3-3 with an RBI groundout to second base. Another player who had an excellent game was pitcher Kaden Crawford. He first impressed the audience at Edible Field when a running match ensued in between second and third and he stepped up to tag the runner out at third in the second inning. The talented pitcher greatly advanced the defensive momentum by throwing smart and having a good inning giving him his first inning shutout of the season and came off the mound for the evening with 3Ks, no hits, and no runs.

The Bombers opened up the game in full throttle with the first play being a diving catch in center by Garrison Weiss. In the third inning, offensive momentum was picked up due to Garrison with a base hit through second that was hit hard. Immediately after, the centerfielder stole second and third after Casey Sunseri, who also logged a single in the 6th and a double late in the seventh, smacked a ball through the six hole. To seal the deal, the athlete scored from third after a catcher error advancing Casey to third allowing him to score the Bombers second run right after. Continuing to stun the crowd Weiss hit a line drive single through the four hole late in the seventh inning. Defensively Garrison was also dominating, tracking down two hard hit balls deep in center to close the top of the sixth and closed the 8th inning up with a running catch. Zach Williams helped the Bombers on defense today with 2 Ks in a single inning during the 8th back to back. The Lamar pitcher also completed 2 more strikeouts in the 9th helping send the Bombers into extras.
