Bombers' Bullpen Shut Down Lakeshore

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Cam Gibson knocked in a two-run RBI-single as a part of a four run Battle Creek Bombers' (4-2) second inning, completing a two-game series sweep of the Lakeshore Chinooks (1-4), 6-2.

Nate Walker (W, 1-0) tossed 3.1 scoreless innings and struck out four in relief of Bombers' starter Hunter Devall who struck out five in 3.2 innings. Gabe Berman pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth to seal the win for Battle Creek.

Chinooks starter Dan Sayles (L, 0-1) ran into trouble in the second inning when two walks and four consecutive singles brought four Bombers home. The Bombers tacked on an insurance run in the seventh when Kade Scivicque walked with the bases loaded.

Gibson, Jordan Winawer, and Matthew Fears each collected two hits. Meanwhile, the Bombers bullpen has held opponents scoreless in 10.1 consecutive innings

Tomorrow begins the first of a four-game road trip in Wisconsin. The Bombers have two with the Woodchucks in Wausau and two in Wisconsin Rapids before returning home on Saturday. Cam Wysocki toes the rubber for the Bombers tomorrow with gametime set for 7:35 ET.
