Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes will get together for their final regular season meeting FRIDAY, SEPT. 29 at 7 p.m. at Canad Inns Stadium in what promises to be an exciting match-up of CFL East Division archrivals.

Football fans attending the game will be treated to a performance by renowned Canadian songstress Susan Aglukark, who will be singing the Canadian national anthem as part of a celebration of aboriginal music and culture. Aglukark is a multiple Juno and Canadian Country Music Award winner.

As part of the celebration of aboriginal culture, more than 80 dancers dressed in traditional dress will perform at centre field at half time. There will also be a Métis fiddle and jig demonstration as well as a video presentation on the Jumbotron featuring Canadian Aboriginal Music Award Winners Eagle and Hawk.

The Bombers-Alouettes match-up will be about more than just playoff positioning. Both teams will be playing for the Rona Cup, to raise support for Breakfast Clubs in their respective cities. Rona will provide $10,000 to breakfast clubs in the winning team's community. Breakfast Clubs ensure that more than 250,000 Canadian children from disadvantaged backgrounds have a nutritious breakfast before going to class every day.

Fans should plan on getting to the stadium early. The first 18,000 fans at Canad Inns Stadium will receive complimentary blue and gold pom-poms courtesy of Rona to cheer on the Blue Bombers.

Gates 1 and 6 at Canad Inns Stadium will be open 90 minutes prior to game time. All other gates will be opened one hour prior to kick-off.

Tickets for the Sept. 29 game and all other Bomber home games are available at all Ticketmaster locations or by calling (204) 780-3333. They can also be purchased on-line at www.ticketmaster.ca.
