Battle Creek, Mich. - The Battle Creek Bombers (12-12) had runners on 1st and 3rd with one out in the ninth trailing by a run but could not get the run home as they fell to Green Bay Bullfrogs (10-15) 4-3 on Saturday night.

Keegan Yuhl made his first start of the season for Battle Creek and allowed just one unearned run in five innings while striking out seven. He left the game with a 2-1 lead, but Brian Heldman gave up a solo home run to Tripp Martin in the sixth.

Todd Eaton (L, 1-3) entered the game in a 2-2 tie in the eighth and allowed two leadoff singles to Trevin Sonnier and Robert Youngdahl. After a double steal, a throwing error by catcher A.J. Kenedy, and a passed ball, both runners came home to score to give Green Bay a 4-2 lead.

The Bombers tried to put together a rally in the ninth, but fell just short. Rouric Bridgewater delivered an RBI-double and was standing on second base with nobody out and was sacrificed over to third. After a Daniel Cucjen walk, Joe Serrano struck out and Cam Gibson grounded out to first to end the game.

The Bombers and Bullfrogs will play a rubber match on Sunday with Hunter Devall on the mound for Battle Creek. First pitch is set for 5:05 ET.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in America. For information on tickets call (269) 962-0735 or visit BattleCreekBombers.com.
