Blue Anchors Fall to Rox 9-3

Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release
The Alexandria Blue Anchors fell to the St. Cloud Rox 9-3 at Knute Nelson Memorial Park on Saturday night. The loss dropped the Blue Anchors to 4-19.
St. Cloud started the scoring in the 2nd inning. With two runners on base, Vincent Jackson hit a three-run homer to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Rox.
The Rox would add one more in the fourth and five in the seventh before Alexandria would make a rally. Kris Goodman drove in Andrew Mulato to start the scoring, and Keegan Dale drove in both Aaron Gretz and Dalton Leuschke to make the score 9-3. Unfortunately, the Blue Anchors would not score again, with the final score being 9-3.
Hunter Newman (0-1) took the loss in his first start, going 4 innings and giving up four runs. Eric Nyquist took the win for St. Cloud, going 6 2/3 innings and giving up three runs in the win.
Minnesota Baseball Academy Player of the Game-Keegan Dale-The Riverside, California and Cal State Fullerton product drove in two runs for the games, as well as assisting on a double play turned in the 8th inning.
Notes-Tim Cusick extended his hitting streak to 15 games...The Blue Anchors are now 0-3 vs. St. Cloud...The Blue Anchors will be at St. Cloud on Monday at 7:05pm...The game can be seen live at www.youtube.com/user/NorthwoodsLeague
