
Bogusevic To Join Hooks

CORPUS CHRISTI - Left-handed pitcher Brian Bogusevic, who compiled a 9-7 record and 4.01 ERA in 21 starts at High-A Salem, has been promoted to Corpus Christi.
He will be in uniform when the Hooks begin a four-game series against San Antonio at Whataburger Field Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader.
Bogusevic was selected by Houston in the first round (24th overall pick) of the 2005 draft.
The 23-year-old, who played collegiately at Tulane with Hooks shortstop Tommy Manzella, is 11-14 over three professional seasons. He worked exclusively in relief two years ago at Tri-City before making the transition to starter at Lexington in 2006.
This season, the former Green Wave pitcher/outfielder walked 39 and struck out 91 in 114 innings for the Avalanche.
Bogusevic went 25-11 with a 3.63 ERA in three seasons at Tulane. He was 13-3 and batted .328 while leading the Green Wave to a 56-12 record and the 2005 College World Series.
Bogusevic twice earned All-Conference USA honors.
