Drillers Home Tuesday

July 30, 2007 - Texas League (TL1)
Tulsa Drillers News Release

The Tulsa Drillers will begin the final month of the 2007 regular season with a 7-game homestand against the Wichita Wranglers (Kansas City Royals) and the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals). Tulsa will host the Wranglers for a 3-game series July 31-August 2 and the Cardinals for a 4-game set August 3-6.

All games in the home stand will begin at 7:05PM with the exception of the game on Sunday, August 5. The Sunday game will have a special 4:05PM starting time to accommodate a Faith Night, post-game concert.

The homestand will be critical for the Drillers post-season hopes with only 34 games remaining in the regular season. The Cardinals have already claimed their playoff spot by virtue of their first-half North Division title. The Cards currently hold a slim one-game lead over the Arkansas Travelers in the second-half race and a 5 ½-games lead over the Drillers. If Springfield also wins the second-half title, the final North Division playoff spot will go to the team with the second-best overall record. Entering this homestand, the Travs hold a ½-game lead over the Drillers in this race.

The two series will be the first games in Tulsa for the Drillers since the death of hitting coach Mike Coolbaugh. The homestand opener on Tuesday, July 31 will be "Remembering Mike Coolbaugh Night." Coolbaugh's number 29 will be retired and autographed items will be raffled and auctioned with all proceeds going to the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund.

Other promotions in the weeklong homestand will include Let It Rain Night on August 1 with one lucky fan winning $10,000 if it rains 1/10th of an inch or more between 6PM and 10PM. Other promotions are Kenny Rogers bobbleheads and Wall of Fame induction ceremonies on August 3, Fireworks on August 4 and Hornsby Banks and the Faith Night Concert on August 5. A complete listing of all promotions in the homestand is below.

Tickets for all seven games in the homestand are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the Internet at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available in person at the Drillers Stadium Ticket Office or over the telephone by calling (918) 744-5901.
