Bismarck Bobcats News Release
MINOT, ND - The Bismarck Bobcats charged out to a big lead after the first period then staved off multiple rallies to top the Minot Minotauros 5-4 Thursday, spoiling the unveiling of Minot's new 2,300-seat Pepsi Rink inside Maysa Arena.
It took the Bobcats just 65 seconds to snare an early 1-0 advantage when defenseman Kyle Siemers ripped a low shot through a screen set by Matt Barry that beat Minot netminder Lucas Murray five-hole, quieting the Thursday crowd with his first goal as a Bobcat.
Though Siemers needed 14 games to earn his first marker of 2016-17, he'd only need another 6:07 to register his second, once again using traffic to thread a low shot through Murray's five-hole with 12:48 to go and make it 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
"Kyle had his best game so far this season for us [Thursday]," credited Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, who picked up the blueliner from the Aberdeen Wings on October 4. "Not only did he show off his offensive ability in the first, he was strong in his own end with some major shot
