Bismarck Bobcats News Release

The Bobcats and Blizzard went at it Saturday night in a rematch of their first preseason game which the Bobcats won 6-2. Saturday was an end to end game as players from both teams were fighting to make the teams' final rosters. The Bobcats held on to win game two as well 3-2.

The first period was a penalty filled one in which there were 27 combined shots but both Grogan of the Bobcats and Woodring of the Blizzard played well to keep it a scoreless tie. Jeff Harris got the Bobcats on the board in the second period by driving to the net on a delayed penalty and a great power move to the net by Jordan Singer. Five minutes later Casey Kleisinger made a highlite film play, bring the puck behind the net dishing a back door pass to Joel Lundstrom who was wide open on the far side and popped it passed Woodring.

The Blizzard are a veteran team and are not going to roll over all season. They came within one on a beautiful effort by Jerry Friesmouth. The cats went ahead by two again on a powerplay goal by Myles Harvey. Dakota Collins came right back to score for the Blizzard and the Bobcats had to hold on to secure the win as the Blizzard pulled their goalie in the last half of the third period.

The Cats go the NAHL showcase next week to start their regular season in at the Schwaan's super rink in Blaine Minnesota. See the schedule at Bismarckbobcats.com.
