
Blunden and O'Marra up to the Challenge

Erie Otters forwards Mike Blunden and Ryan O'Marra have been selected to represent the Ontario Hockey League in Game 2 of the ADT Canada/Russia Series being played Monday, November 28th in Peterborough.
As a result of the Otters game against the Belleville Bulls scheduled for Thursday, November 24th the two Otters forwards will not participate in Game 1 of the two-game set being played the same night in Kitchener.
The ADT Canada/Russia Series is a six-game mini-tournament featuring the top players in the Canadian Hockey League against the top junior players from Russia. The series begins with games against players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on November 21st and 22nd. The Western Hockey League will face the Russians on December 1st and 2nd.
The selection marks the second for Blunden, a second round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, who played in both games against the Russians a season ago.
O'Marra, selected 15th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, will get his first opportunity to play in the Series.
Blunden and O'Marra are tied for second in Otters scoring with 11 points. Blunden, in his fourth season with the Otters, has five goals and six assists in nine games while O'Marra, the Otters captain in his third Otters season, has counted three goals and eight assists in eight games.
The Otters (5-4) return to action Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Tullio Arena when they welcome the Windsor Spitfires (2-8). Tickets for the game are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Civic Center Box Office.
Saturday the Otters hit the road for a pair in Western Ontario beginning in Sarnia against the Sting (5-4) at 7:30 p.m. Sunday the Otters complete the weekend with a rematch against the Spitfires in Windsor at 2 p.m. The games Saturday and Sunday can be heard on SportsRadio 1330 The FAN. Hamot Hockey Night Saturday begins with the pre-game show live at 7:15 p.m. Sunday's game can be heard in it's entirety immediately following Pittsburgh Steelers Football.
