Blues Sign Brad Winchester

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed free agent forward Brad Winchester.

Winchester, 28, skated in 41 games for the Dallas Stars last season, collecting three points (one goal, two assists) along with 46 penalty minutes. He also appeared in six postseason games with the Stars last season.

The 6-5, 215-pound forward set career highs in all offensive categories during the 2006-07 season with the Edmonton Oilers, playing in 59 games, scoring nine points (four goals, five assists) along with 86 penalty minutes.

He played four years of collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin, amassing 84 points (40 goals, 44 assists) along with 215 penalty minutes in 150 career games.

The Madison, Wisconsin native has skated in 119 career NHL games with Edmonton and Dallas, collecting 13 points (five goals, eight assists) along with 153 penalty minutes.

He was originally Edmonton's second round pick, 35th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.
