Bristol Blues News Release
The Blues four-game winning streak came to a close last night when the Martha's Vineyard Sharks visited Muzzy Field.
The Sharks took a 1-0 lead in the very first inning and a 2-1 lead in the fourth when each team traded runs. After an explosive sixth inning when the Sharks brought in three, they never looked back. Offensively, the Blues were led by Griffin Garabedian (UCONN) who had a two hit ball game including a deep double that he would later score one of the Blues' two runs on.
Winning pitcher for the Sharks was Zach Brown. Blues losing pitcher was George Lund (Roger Williams) who went six innings with seven hits with five runs allowed, two of which were earned, and six strikeouts. The outing brings Lund's ERA down to 1.67, still one of the highest on the team.
The Blues return to action today, July 1, as they have a rematch against the Martha's Vineyard Sharks at 11am.
