
Bluefish Bats Come Alive; Tie Franchise Record for Runs Scored

(Bridgeport, Conn. - May 3, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (4-5) defeated the Camden Riversharks (6-4) by a score of 20-0 at Campbell's Field on Sunday afternoon, tying a franchise record for runs scored in a single game.
The 20 runs scored by the Bluefish ties a single-game franchise record set on 6/23/03 against the Road Warriors at Harbor Yard. Bridgeport also collected 25 hits in the contest, one shy of the franchise record of 26 set on 6/9/99 against the Newark Bears. Individually, Nick Van Stratten set a new Bluefish franchise record for runs scored in a game with five, topping the previous high of four, set by Luis Lopez on 4/23/13 against the Riversharks at Campbell's Field.
Seven Bluefish starters notched a multi-hit game, with Van Stratten, Sean Burroughs, and Welington Dotel leading the way with four each. Dotel also paced the 'Fish with six RBI, while James Simmons and John Alonso also contributed with four runs batted in each. Bridgeport starting pitcher Parker Frazier (2-0) picked up the victory after hurling five innings of shutout baseball, allowing only five hits. Camden starter Steve Garrison (0-1) suffered the loss.
The Bluefish will be back at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Tuesday, May 5th when they welcome in the Long Island Ducks for a three game set in the first installment of the Ferry Cup Series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
