Bluefins Fall to Outlaws, 3-1

Hyannis, MA - The Cape Cod Bluefins fell to the New Jersey Outlaws by a score of 3-1 tonight, despite out shooting the Outlaws 44 to 31. Andrew Hutton put Cape Cod on the board with a first period power play goal at 9:30 with New Jersey down two men on back to back hooking calls on Kevin Cooper and John Goffredo midway through the period.

New Jersey fought back with 3 unanswered goals to make the final score on a tying goal during the second period by Matt Puntereri on assists from Luke Flicek and Kevin Cooper at 5:49 of the second. New Jersey then took the lead late during the third on a pair of goals from Lawne Snyder, one at 8:54 from Jim Jensen and Luke Flicek and icing the game with an empty netter at 19:17.

Wes Vesprini made 29 saves for Cape Cod, William McWhinney stopped 44 of 45 shots. The Bluefins travel to New Jersey and Brooklyn this coming weekend.

The Bluefins next home game is Friday, November 11th against the Brooklyn Aviators at 7:05pm.
