BlueClaws notch Spring Training win

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The players that are projected to makeup the Lakewood BlueClaws roster took tallied a 6-3 win against the class-A farm club of the New York Yankees at the Yankees Complex Thursday afternoon. Lakewood picked up the win behind another strong outing from starting pitcher Maximo DeLaCruz.

DeLaCruz worked three innings on the mound, giving up one run and earning the win. Corey Dueitt tossed two innings of perfect relief while striking out two.

Solo home runs from Louis Marson and Brad Harman sparked the offense. Carl Galloway added a single, double and two RBI to the offense as well.

Tomorrow the future BlueClaws will meet up with the Toronto Blue Jays class-A club at 1:00 p.m. at the Carpenter Complex, the Spring Training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. In all, the BlueClaws will take part in 18 Spring Training games before breaking camp and arriving in Lakewood.

The team first practices at FirstEnergy Park April 5 at 6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

This season, the Lakewood BlueClaws are celebrating their fifth anniversary of providing great fun in the Jersey sun. A fireworks show will follow every Friday night home game in addition to one of the best promotional schedules in the past four years. In addition, the BlueClaws will host games against affiliates of the New York Yankees and Mets.
