BlueClaws Drop Opener, Lead Suspended Game Two on Thursday

WILMINGTON, DE - The BlueClaws dropped the opening game of two on Friday at Wilmington but game two was suspended by rain with Jersey Shore leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning.

Game One

Wilmington took the opener 3-0 behind six scoreless innings from Mitchell Parker (5-1), who gave up three hits and struck out seven while walking three. Gerardo Carillo got the last three outs for his first save.

The Blue Rocks scored twice in the first off Kyle Glogoski, though both runs were unearned. Drew Millas doubled home the first run while Kevin Strohschein singled home Millas with the second.

Jose Sanchez's SAC fly in the third scored the only other run of the game.

Luis Garcia, Carlos De La Cruz and Jared Carr had the only three BlueClaws hits. Freylin Minyety, who went 0-3, had his hitting streak snapped at eight games.

JP Woordward, Brett Schulze, and Jason Ruffcorn each threw scoreless innings in relief for Jersey Shore.

Game Two

Ben Brown threw four scoreless innings but game two was suspended in the top of the fifth inning with the BlueClaws leading 2-0.

The BlueClaws scored twice in the second inning, on RBI singles by Herbert Iser and Uziel Viloria.

Brown gave up one hit and struck out four over his four innings.

The game will be resumed on Friday before the regularly-scheduled game.
