Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, NJ - For the seventh consecutive season, the Lakewood BlueClaws have drawn more fans to their ballpark than any other professional team in the South Atlantic League and the state of New Jersey.
On the strength of 6,900 fans for the season-ending Labor Day matinee, and a season-high 9,104 on Sunday night, the BlueClaws finished the year with a final attendance of 442,256 in 2007.
"To lead a 16-team league in attendance for seven straight years is an accomplishment that we are very proud of," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "But it's also an accomp-
lishment that would not be possible without the outstanding support of the community. This is as much their achievement as it is ours."
The year was highlighted by 2006 NL MVP Ryan Howard rehabbing with the BlueClaws on May 23 and 24, drawing over 16,000 fans to the park on those nights. The BlueClaws also set their May attendance record in 2007.
On July 16th, the BlueClaws welcomed their 3-millionth fan. The BlueClaws became the fastest team in New Jersey and South Atlantic League history to reach that plateau.
The BlueClaws will host the 2nd annual Wingstock Festival on September 29th, featuring Paul Rodgers, Marshall Tucker Band, Little Feat, and Foghat. For tickets or more information, call 732-901-7000 or visit www.BlueClaws.com.
