Catfish Cast Calendar for 2008

Columbus, GA - The South Atlantic League has set its regular season schedule for 2008, and the Columbus Catfish have released their summer slate for the sophomore session as Low-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The 140-game schedule will be evenly divided with 70 games at home and 70 on the road. The regular season starts at home against the Savannah Sand Gnats on Thursday, April 3 and ends on the road against the Rome Braves on Monday, September 1.

Once again the SAL has a regionally weighted schedule. That puts the Catfish in a group with Southern Division rivals Charleston RiverDogs (20 games), Rome (24) and Savannah (24). Columbus was 51-29 for a .638 winning percentage against the trio during the 2007 season.

The Catfish will also play 12 games each against the Southern's Asheville Tourists, Greenville Drive and Augusta GreenJackets and four games against the Kannapolis Intimidators.

Columbus will play 32 games against six Northern Division teams, most against the Hickory Crawdads (four at home and eight on the road). The Catfish play four road games each against the West Virginia Power and Lexington Legends and four home games each against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Lake County Captains and Hagerstown Suns.
