BlueClaws anncounce 2005 schedule

Lakewood, N.J. – The Lakewood BlueClaws, class-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies announced their 2005 schedule for their fifth season of play at the Jersey Shore. The Lakewood BlueClaws will begin the 2005 season at home on April 7 against Lake County Captains.

This season, the Charleston (SC) RiverDogs, the new class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, will visit Lakewood for a four-game set May 25-28. Fans will also see the New York Mets new South Atlantic League affiliate, Hagerstown Suns, play at FirstEnergy Park a total of 15 separate dates. Other popular match-ups include the archrival Delmarva Shorebirds 12 times, plus their four game series to finish the season at FirstEnergy Park.

"We owe a great deal to our loyal fans that have continued to support us as we enter our fifth season," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "It seems just like yesterday when we received our first schedule and here we are approaching year five and more milestones."

The Lakewood BlueClaws will have a total of 33 weekend dates including the final home series of the year on the Labor Day weekend. The BlueClaws 12 Friday dates, 11 Saturday dates and 10 Sunday dates.

With 35 dates slated prior to the end of June, the BlueClaws are anticipating welcoming their 2 millionth fan through the turnstiles by the South Atlantic League's All Star break, June 27-29. It took the organization 148 dates to reach the 1 millionth fan landmark on April 26, 2003. To date, 1,833,064 fans have enjoyed the Lakewood BlueClaws unique brand of fun affordable family entertainment.

BlueClaws home games played Monday through Thursday in April and May will be at 6:35 p.m. and Friday games will begin at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Sunday games in April and May will begin at 1:05 p.m. with the exception of May 28, which will start at 7:05 p.m. Games in June, July and August will begin at 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday's in June will begin at 1:05 p.m. and in July and August will start at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, September 4 will begin at 7:05 p.m. and the BlueClaws game on Labor Day, September 5, will start at 1:05 p.m. The popular "Noon Time Nine" games will begin at 11:05 a.m.
