
Blue Rocks Take Two from Claws on Sunday in ShoreTown

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Wilmington took a double-header from Jersey Shore on Sunday, winning game one 8-1 and game two 4-2. The teams split their six-game series after Jersey Shore had won three of the first four.
Game One
Casey Martin homered on the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning but Wilmington scored seven times in the top of the third. That inning included four Blue Rocks hits and five walks issued by BlueClaws pitchers. Three of the runs scored on bases loaded walks issued by the BlueClaws.
Sam Jacobsak (0-1) took the loss, allowing four of the seven runs in the third inning.
Andrew Alvarez (2-1) did not allow a run over the last five innings to earn the win for the Blue Rocks.
Martin had his home run and a single for two of the three BlueClaws hits in the game.
Game Two
The BlueClaws took the lead in the second inning on a two-run home run by Leandro Pineda. Wilmington got a run in the third off Gunner Mayer and then TJ Scott tied the game with a home run off Tristan Garnett in the top of the fourth inning.
Wilmington broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth off Matt Russell. TJ White's RBI single broke a 2-2 tie and they added a run on a bunt single from Jordy Barley. Tyler Schoff struck out four over the last two to earn his third save of the season.
Jersey Shore starter Gunner Mayer went three innings and allowed one run on two hits while striking out four.
The BlueClaws head to Aberdeen to start a series on Tuesday night and return home on Tuesday, May 30th.
