American country music star James Wesley, who is currently on tour with Taylor Swift, will be making his Frawley Stadium debut. His latest single, "Didn't I" cracked the top 50 on the country music Billboard charts. He will be performing "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch, as well as a special post-game fireworks show.
"The Blue Rocks are extremely excited to have James Wesley at the ballpark," said Andrew Layman, Wilmington's assistant general manager. "With his up and coming fame, we could not have selected a better time to welcome him and celebrate all things country."
The Blue Rocks players will be wearing country-inspired jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the B+ Foundation. Fans can bid on their favorite Blue Rocks player and win their authentic, autographed game-worn jersey. All proceeds benefit the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation which honors the life of a local 14-year-old who battled leukemia. The B+ Foundation raises awareness for childhood cancer by providing emotional and financial support to families of children with cancer.
The celebration also includes a "Toy Story Tribute," featuring clips and music from the Disney classic. Plus, REGGY! The Purple Party Dude will be making his final appearance at Frawley Stadium in 2011.
