Blue Crabs Fan Fest On April 11

With spring just days away, and baseball season right around the corner, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are having a special event on Saturday, April 11 to help get the season started for those who just can't wait until Opening Day.

The team will hold its second Fan Fest celebration event from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. that Saturday, and will feature plenty of activities for the families and fans that can't wait for Blue Crabs Baseball. For starters, season ticket holders can get their hands on their tickets for the first time by coming to Regency Furniture Stadium anytime during Fan Fest.

Blue Crabs Fan Fest will also be a hit with the younger baseball fans. Chick-fil-A Backfin Buddies Kids Club Members can pick up their tickets throughout the day as well. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for the kids around all of Regency Furniture Stadium, and mascot Pinch will be there as well, dressed for the holiday and ready to help out. To top it off, as many as six "moon bounce" inflatables will be set up in or around the stadium for all kids to enjoy. Inside the ballpark, Pinch's Playground will also be open.

In addition to season ticket pick-up, individual single game tickets will also be on sale at the Regency Furniture Stadium box office during fan fest.

"By mid-April everyone is anxious to get out to the ballpark, the winter is just too long," said Blue Crabs General Manager Chris Allen. "We want to see every single Blue Crab fan out here for Fan Fest to pick up their tickets, and get things going. Why wait until April 23 to get the party started?" continued Allen.

Fans should think of Fan Fest 2009 as a Pre-season pep rally for the Blue Crabs, as they get ready to compete for a championship. The more members of Crustacean Nation that show up, the more fun it will be!

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will open their second season of Atlantic League baseball at HOME on Thursday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m., against the Liberty Division rival Long Island Ducks. The Blue Crabs will play 70 home games this season at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf.
