Blue Crabs Beat the Revolution to Win Their Third Straight

(York, PA)---Southern Maryland and York played a thrilling offensive game last night. Tonight, fans were treated to very good pitching on both sides with the Blue Crabs coming out on top, winning 3-1 over the York Revolution.

Blue Crabs starter Jake Hale went seven innings, allowing a run on five hits, while striking out two and not walking any York hitters, picking up his second win of the season. The game was held scoreless until the Blue Crabs got on the board first in the top of the fifth. With two outs, Casey Frawley would hit a ground rule double. Antone DeJesus would then single to score Frawley.

In the top of the sixth inning, Zach Wilson who has missed the last five games with an ankle injury would hit a solo homerun to give the Blue Crabs a 2-0 lead. Johan Limonta would homer for York in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 2-1 ballgame. The Blue Crabs would add a run in the top of the ninth to make it 3-1. In the bottom of the ninth, Wilson Valdez would lead off the bottom of the frame with a single. Closer Erik Hamren would then get Eric Patterson to ground into a 4-6-3 Double Play. The next batter Andres Perez would strikeout to end the ballgame, sending the Blue Crabs to their third straight win.

Game three of the four game set will played tomorrow evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. RHP Mike McClendon (0-1, 2.70) will start for York, and Brian Grening (0-0, 2.45) will make his first start of the season for the Blue Crabs in the spot of LHP Brian Burres.
