Blue Coats Split Home Series with Cruise with Loss on Tuesday
March 30, 2022 - NBA G League (G League)
Delaware Blue Coats News Release
On Tuesday, the Delaware Blue Coats (20-10) fell to the Motor City Cruise (21-10) 122-111. The game came just two days after these two teams met in the same building at the Chase Fieldhouse, which saw Delaware claim a 125-118 victory.
Much like their first matchup, the game was close from start to finish. Throughout the first three quarters, the point differential never grew larger than six in favor of either team; the Blue Coats finished the first frame with a 30-24 lead, and the score was neck-and-neck at halftime, with the Cruise leading 56-54 after trading blows in the winding minutes of the second quarter.
Halfway through the fourth, the game was as close as it would get down the homestretch, at 106-100 in favor of the Cruise. A two minute cold streak for the Coats, though, left them trailing by double digits, a lead Motor City maintained until the final buzzer.
Key Players:
Charles Bassey
Despite the loss, Bassey had a bounce-back game himself after fouling out in the Coats' previous outing. In this game, he posted a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. He continued to dominate as a rim-protector, blocking 4 shots.
Myles Powell
Powell put up a team-high 27 points, which went along with his 8 rebounds.
Shaquille Harrison
Harrison shot 50% from the field on 7-14 shooting, dropping 15 points of his own. He added 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, tying him with Patrick McCaw for the team-high in that category.
