Delaware Blue Coats News Release

In a Sunday afternoon battle, the Delaware Blue Coats (18-7) return home to take on the Maine Celtics (12-14). This will be the Coats' first game back at Chase Fieldhouse after a three-game road trip last week where they went 2-1.

The teams previously met at the start of the regular season, when the then 0-2 Blue Coats defeated the Celtics 111-107 for their first win of the new year. Braxton Key recorded a game-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the W.

While Key has been one of the Blue Coats' constants throughout the season, this is a much different Delaware team than the one the Celtics saw previously.

In their last meeting with Maine, Delaware did not have Myles Powell, Charles Bassey, or Shamorie Ponds on the roster, all of whom have emerged as key components to recent successes. Against the Grand Rapids Gold on Friday night, Bassey (26) and Powell (25) combined for 51 points. Prior to that, Ponds put up 23 and 29 points in back-to-back matchups against the Cleveland Charge on March 15 and 16.

The Celtics are only 2-9 on the road this season, while, the Coats are 8-2 at home on the year and are primed to compete for the top seed in the Eastern Conference down the stretch.

Gametime is at 3:00 p.m.
