
Blowfish Win 8-3 over Hi Toms

HIGH POINT-THOMASVILLE, N.C. - Connor Lewis hit two home runs to power the Columbia Blowfish 8-3 by the HiToms at Finch Field.
The Blowfish trailed 2-0 in the sixth when Eros Modena and Erik Barber led off with singles against HiToms starter Josh Frederick. Lewis then jacked a three-run homer down the line in right to give Columbia a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish.
Jared Allen smoked a two-run home run in the fourth to dead center to give the HiToms a 2-0 lead in the fourth.
With the Blowfish up 6-3 in the ninth, Lewis came up to the plate with a man on first and two outs. He hit a 3-2 pitch from reliever Nick Miller off the scoreboard in left-center field for his second home run of both the night and season. Lewis finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBIs to lead the Blowfish.
Frederick (5-4) gave up three runs on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts in six innings for the loss. The HiToms fell to 24-27, 11-12 in the second half.
The winning pitcher was Jon Olczak (3-1), who tossed six innings, striking out five against two walks. The right-hander allowed two runs on hits as Columbia won their 30th game of the season. The Blowfish are 30-18, 13-7.
