Bloomington PrairieThunder Announces Labor Day Weekend Events and Pre-season Game Schedule

The Bloomington PrairieThunder organization will be all over town this Labor Day Weekend.

Starting on Thursday, the area's professional hockey team will be represented at four events through Labor Day Monday.

Thursday, September 2nd: "Festival ISU"

From 10am to 4pm, meet members of the PrairieThunder organization on the ISU Quad. 2010-2011 PrairieThunder schedule and ticket information will be available.

Friday, September 3rd: "Sheridan Elementary Back to School Parade"

The PrairieThunder's mascot "Chip" will be participating in the parade beginning at 9am.

Friday, September 3rd: "Normal CornBelters Baseball"

Meet new Head Coach Jason Christie as he throws out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.

Members of the PrairieThunder organization, including Team President Tim Leighton, will be on hand to provide PrairieThunder schedule and ticket information.

Monday, September 6th: "Bloomington Labor Day Parade"

Members of the PrairieThunder Booster Club will be riding in the parade and will be distributing candy for the children watching the parade as well as PrairieThunder game schedules.

PrairieThunder Pre-season Game Schedule Announced

The PrairieThunder has also announced that the Central Hockey League team will play two pre-season games as a part of their training camp which opens October 4th. The PThunder will play two games against in-state rivals, the Quad City Mallards:

Saturday, October 9th: PrairieThunder AT Quad City Mallards (7pm / i Wireless Center, Moline)

Sunday, October 10th: Quad City AT PrairieThunder (4pm / Decatur Civic Center, Decatur, Illinois).

The Sunday, October 10th game is considered a home game for the PrairieThunder. The game is being played for the second year in a row at the Decatur Civic Center with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Decatur Youth Hockey. The PrairieThunder will be wearing special game jerseys and there will be a jersey auction following the game that will also benefit Decatur Youth Hockey.

General admission tickets prior to the day of the game are $10.00 for adults and include one free ticket for children 12 and under. Additional children's tickets are $5.00. On the day of the game, adult tickets are $15.00 and children's tickets are $5.00.
