Mallards to Battle Bloomington in Preseason

MOLINE, Ill. (September 1, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they will meet the Bloomington PrairieThunder in preseason action Saturday, October 9 at 7:05 p.m. at the i wireless Center and Sunday, October 10 at 4:00 p.m. at the Decatur Civic Center.

The October 9 game will give the fans of the Quad Cities their first chance to see the Mallards in game action as the Flock gears up for its inaugural CHL season. Tickets for that game will go on sale to the general public on Monday, October 4 at the i wireless Center ticket office. All tickets will be general admission and will be available for $8. Admission to the contest will be free for Mallards season ticket holders. Season ticket holders will need only to show a picture I.D. when arriving for the game and can use the season ticket entrance located under the River Drive skywalk. Seating for the preseason game will be exclusively in the lower level of the i wireless Center; the upper level will be curtained off for the night.

This marks the second straight year the Mallards and PrairieThunder will play a preseason home-and-home series. The Flock won both games against Bloomington last fall.

Regular Season Schedule Change The Mallards' regular season away game against the Fort Wayne Komets originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 5 has been moved to Sunday, January 9 at 4:00 p.m. That game is the seventh of ten the Mallards and Komets will play against each other this season.

The Mallards will open their first CHL regular season on home ice Saturday, October 16, at 7:05 p.m. against the Odessa Jackalopes.
