Bloomington Blanks Rush for First Time this Season

(Rapid City, SD) - Friday night, the Rapid City Rush went head-to-head against the Bloomington Blaze at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena. Bloomington powered themselves to an early three goal lead by the first intermission en route to a 4-0 win, dealing the Rush their first shutout of the season. Tomorrow, the teams are back at it as the Rush host their fifth annual Teddy Bear Toss beginning at 7:05pm. Tickets are available by calling the Rush office at 716-7825 or online at gotmine.com

Bloomington struck just 3:39 into the first frame as Jared Walker notched his first pro goal seconds into an early power play. The Blaze would extend their lead at the 16:37 mark when Sebastien Trudeau exited the penalty box and was sprung on a breakaway by Jesse Dudas who assisted on the goal. Finally, a buzzer-beater from Nicholas Rioux as time expired gave the Blaze a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

After a scoreless second frame, the Blaze would tack on one more goal from Mathew Larke with 3:08 remaining in the third to clinch a 4-0 victory.
