Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Brahmas (9-7-2) won their third consecutive game Saturday night as they defeated the Tulsa Oilers 5-1 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Tulsa took the early 1-0 lead as David Beauregard scored just 1:17 into the first period. But that would be the only goal Brahmas netminder Kristofer Westblom would allow.
Fort Worth came back and took a 2-1 lead heading into the second period as Tomas Klempa and Sy Nutkevitch both beat Tulsa goaltender Ian Keserich in the opening frame. For Nutkevitch, it was his first game-winning goal of the season.
The Brahmas added three more scores the rest of the way. Erik Spady and Phil Fox notched second-period goals, and Adam Hogg sealed the deal with a third-period score. For Fox, it was his team-leading ninth goal of the season.
Westblom (4-1-0) made 17 saves on 18 Tulsa shots to earn his fourth victory in only five starts. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound goalie has a 1.22 goals against average and a .944 save percentage this season.
Keserich allowed five goals on 30 shots in net for the Oilers, earning his seventh regulation loss of the season.
Fort Worth is back at the NYTEX Sports Centre to host the Denver Cutthroats Saturday, December 8 at 7:30pm.
