Bloody Loss at Kemper Arena

Kansas City Outlaws News Release

(Kansas City, MO) – The in-state rivalry between Missouri and Kansas City gets stronger every game, as a tough battle early on turned into a lopsided 5-2 defeat for the home team, who drops their record to 9-15-1 and 5-4 at Kemper Arena.

Approximately three and a half minutes into the game saw a total of 50 penalty minutes within three seconds of game time, including two ejections (Brad MacMillan of Missouri and Nello Ferrara of Kansas City). Multiple altercations broke out at the same time that resembled street fights in a back alley of a bad neighborhood. Officials had to scrape the bloody ice off of the surface before resuming play.

The second period continued to be a nightmare for the Outlaws on Friday night. Coming into the game, they had been outscored 38-20 by opponents, which marks the largest deficit faced by any team in any period this season. Tonight they were outscored 3-1 in the second, leaving a 4-1 hole to climb out of in the final period.

The Outlaws attempt to maintain a winning record at home as they play their next battle at Kemper Arena on Wednesday, December 15 at 7 p.m. against the Muskegon Fury.
