Blizzard Face Reading For First Time In Team History

Blizzard Update: The Blizzard has won four consecutive games prior to the bye last week. The most recent was a67-47 defeat of the Richmond Revolution on April 1. Jameel Sewell got his second start at quarterback, but was replaced by Willie Copeland in the first quarter. Copeland completed 28 of 45 passes for 316 yards and seven touchdowns. Chris Bell was his main target as he caught five passes for 88 yards and scored four touchdowns. The Blizzard defense was lead by A.J. Nicholson and Greg Jackson. Both players had 13 tackles each and broke the Blizzard record for tackles in a single game.

Express Update: Reading picked up their fourth win of the season last week with a 25-14 win over the Richmond Revolution. With the Richmond's new arena under construction, the Revolution was forced to move their 2011 slate outdoors to a multi-venue sports complex. The outdoor game definitely brought some elements into play. There was a steady rain throughout the contest. The win moved the Express to 4-2 on the year, and widened their lead in the IFL Atlantic Division standings.

Series: Friday will be the first game between Reading and Green Bay. Reading was a member of the AIFA the past five years and moved to the IFL for the 2011 season.

Notes: Green Bay ranks fourth in the IFL with an average of 51.4 points per game. Meanwhile, Reading ranks 18th with 36.8 points per game. Express quarterback Chris Malleo is fourth among IFL quarterbacks with 20 touchdown passes. He also can hurt you with his legs as he averages nearly 57 rushing yards per game and has five rushing touchdowns this year. The Express also have a stingy defense which only gives up 36 points a game.
