
Blizzard B.J Hill Named IFL Special Teams Player Of The Year

Green Bay, WI - The Indoor Football League announced today that DB B.J Hill has been named IFL Special Teams Player of the Year.
This is Hill's second IFL Special Teams Player of the Year Award. He previously won the award in 2011.
Hill set a numerous records for the Blizzard and the IFL in 2013. Hill set an IFL's record with his 13th career kickoff return for a touchdown. In the Blizzard's April 27th game vs Texas, Hill opened the game up in dramatic fashion as he returned the opening kickoff 54 yards, breaking the previous IFL record of 11. Later in the season, Hill became the IFL's all-time leader in kick return yards with 3,412.
In addition to his contributions on special teams, Hill finished the season second on the team in receiving yards and touchdowns with 441 and 11, respectively. He finished third on the team in tackles with 53. He finished the season second in the IFL with 1,581 all-purpose yards, the most by any Blizzard member since 2009.
"Hill is a veteran leader that I look to make big plays every week and do what he does best. We utilize him in all aspects of the game and he can play at any level if given the opportunity. I really do look for big things out of him if he gets the opportunity to move on," stated Head Coach Chad Baldwin.
In addition to Special Teams Player of the Year, the league announced that Nebraska Quarterback Jameel Sewell has been named the 2013 IFL MVP. Sewell was also named IFL Offensive Player of Year. Sewell played for the Blizzard in 2011.
Sioux Falls LB Tyler Knight was named Defensive Player of the Year. Chicago QB Cody Kirby was named Rookie of the Year and Tri-Cities DB Lionell Singleton was awarded the Adam Pringle Award, which recognizes community service.Cedar Rapids Head Coach Mark Stoute was named IFL Coach of the Year.
