
Blitz Open House this Thursday

Thursday, April 8th - The Bakersfield Blitz host the first annual Open House & Family Day, Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Centennial Garden presented by Buckley Radio. The Open House is the first chance for the public to see the team practice and get team autographs. The team's open practice will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Following practice until 8:00pm the players will be on the field signing autographs.
Admission to the Open House is free with a donation of two non-perishable food items to the Kern County Food Bank. The Open House is also the first day that season tickets are available for pick-up by season ticket holders. Also, there will be bounce houses, a clown and magician on the Centennial Plaza beginning at 5:00pm and lasting until 7:00pm.
Bakersfield Blitz individual seats will go on sale Thursday beginning at 5:00pm as well, and may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office beginning on Friday, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. · Once again the fans of the Bakersfield Condors have stood strong as Saturday's silent Warm-up Jersey Auction benefiting the Active 20-30 Club raised $11,500. Fans had the opportunity to walk the concourse during Friday and Saturday's games and place their bid on the 2003-2004 Bakersfield Condors Pre-game Warm-up "Landscape" jerseys.
· Bakersfield Sports Entertainment and the Bakersfield Condors would like to thank the fans, the community of Bakersfield, as well as, all the sponsors of the 2003-2004 season. Thanks to the THINK & Condors Classroom Champions program over 16,000 students earned free tickets to Condors games. The four jersey auctions held this season raised $44,300 for the MDA, Petroleum Shine Club, CASA, and the Active 20-30 Club, bringing the franchise total to over $200,000. The annual Teddy Bear Toss brought in an amazing 6,179 stuffed animals this season. Nearly one ton of non-perishable food items were collected during the season and over 500 toys were collected as well. Project Warm Families saw a record 2,860 coats collected. The DARE program awarded over 7,000 students graduating from the DARE program complimentary admission to games. This season's Tip-A-Condor set a new mark and raised over $7,400. Also nearly 3,000 children in local charities received free tickets as a part of the Condors Big Buddies program. Thank you Bakersfield! Mission Accomplished.
