ARKANSAS 48, San Diego 38 (Attendance: 10,552)
North Little Rock, Ark. - Arkansas Twisters Kevin Williams passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more to push his club past the San Diego Riptide 48-38 Saturday night. Ryan Smith caught three touchdowns for the Riptide, hauling in four total passes for 57 yards. The Twisters win is their first opening night win since the 2000 season.
WICHITA 33, Peoria 13 (Attendance: 2,830)
Valley Center, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth defense held the Peoria Pirates scoreless for three quarters on their way to a 33-13 opening night win. QB Aaron Sparrow completed 20-of-33 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns to earn Offensive Player of the Game honors. Two of Sparrows strikes went to WR/LB Christopher Highshaw, who was playing in his first professional game. QB Michael Souza threw two touchdowns in relief of Pirates starter Troy Edwards.
QUAD CITY 71, Manchester 32 (Attendance: 5,872)
Moline, Ill. - The Quad City Steamwheelers justified their No. 1 ranking by handling the Manchester Wolves 71-32 Saturday night. Quad City's Jeff Hewitt earned Offensive Player of the Game for his three receiving and two kick return touchdowns. The Steamwheelers defense recorded four sacks on the night and held the Wolves to six total points in the second half.
RIO GRANDE VALLEY 37, Laredo 6 (Attendance: 5,600)
Hidalgo, Texas - In the first-ever game for both teams, the Rio Grande Valley Dorados used a 30-0 run to roll past the Laredo Law 37-6 Saturday in front of a sold-out Dodge Arena. Preston Hartfield was named Ironman of the Game as he caught five passes for 61 yards with a touchdown and made three tackles on defense. Craig Cole added three receptions for 48 yards and two touchdowns for the Dorados. Martino Theus had the lone touchdown for the Law. He caught five passes for 79 yards on the night.
TENNESSEE VALLEY 60, Bakersfield 35 (Attendance: 5,155)
Huntsville, Ala. - Offensive Player of the Game Bryan Snyder completed 21-of-36 passes for 284 yards with seven touchdowns and he ran for another score, as the Tennessee Valley Vipers defeated the Bakersfield Blitz 60-35 Saturday night. Jerrian James earned Ironman of the Game honors by catching six passes for 122 yards with two touchdowns and a rushing score. On defense he added an interception and three tackles. Blitz QB Chad Elliot threw for five touchdowns, but also had four interceptions.
Oklahoma City 70, TULSA 63 OT (Attendance: 6,317)
Tulsa, Okla. - QB Craig Strickland hit Timon Marshall for a 10-yard strike in overtime to lead the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz past the defending champion Tulsa Talons 70-63 Saturday night. Strickland, who played for Tulsa last season, lit up his former mates for eight passing and one rushing touchdown. Michael Wall, Tulsa's new QB, earned Offensive Player of the Game honors with 325 passing yards and eight touchdowns. Marshall, who also played for Tulsa last season, caught eight passes for 137 yards and five touchdowns. Tulsa's Mitch Allner led all receivers with 10 receptions for 142 yards and three scores.

BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT 63, Birmingham 41 (Attendance: 5,286)
Bossier City, La. - QB Sherard Poteete threw four touchdowns to four different receivers to lead the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings past the visiting Birmingham Steeldogs 63-41 on Saturday, March 27. Detronn Harris of the Steeldogs led all receivers with eight catches for 136 yards with one touchdown. Shadrick McAfee recovered two fumbles for touchdowns for the Battle Wings.
Hawaii 68, CENTRAL VALLEY 35 (Attendance: 3,750)
Fresno, Calif. - Darnell Arceneaux threw for 277 yards and six touchdowns to help the visiting Hawaiian Islanders defeat the Central Valley Coyotes 68-35 on Saturday, March 27. Arceneaux connected with his younger brother for four touchdowns. Anthony caught five total passes for 100 yards. Kenyatte Morgan led the Coyotes with eight catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. The 33-point win was the largest margin of victory in Islanders history.
