Bakersfield Blitz News Release

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The 2007 Bakersfield Blitz Caravan is the team's new and exciting way for our players, coaches, mascots and cheerleaders to interact with students in the community, according to Blitz President and General Manager Andrew Watkins.

Our Crusher Crew has visited various elementary, junior high, and high schools in Bakersfield and Kern County including: Highland Elementary, Cesar Chavez Middle School, Ronald Regan Elementary, Jefferson Elementary and Stockdale Elementary.

"I love interacting with the kids," said OL Wil Goff (Redlands, '03). "My favorite part is just hanging out and explaining the game of Arena Football to them."

The caravan continues this week with three stops on the schedule. On Thursday, Goff and WR Rennard Reynolds (Alcorn State, '01) will be Celebrity Readers at Albany Park School at 8:15 a.m. On Friday, the Blitz will be at Evergreen Elementary from 11:15 - 12:30 and Oliver Middle School from 3:30-4:30.

"It's awesome that we're in a position to use our influence in the community to have an impact on the lives of kids," said Goff.

If you'd like the Blitz Crusher Crew to come out to your school or community event, please call Katie McElree (kmcelree@bblitz.com) or Dan Yopchick (dyopchick@bblitz.com) at 661-377-2548.
