BattleWings Players Do Hair And Nails For Charity

Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA (May 22, 2007)-They may be big, tough and strong, but several members of the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings rolled up their sleeves and donned aprons this week in an effort to help raise money for a very worthwhile charity at Guy's Academy Hair, Skin & Nails.
Kendrick Bournes, Greg Hodges, Nick Codutti, Dannie Snyder and Kenny Williams along with Jamie Dromgoole of the Fly Girls Dance team spent a few hours doing hair and nails at the local school.
"What a pleasure to have the BattleWings with us for our fund-raiser," said Bettye Lee, Administrative Assistant at the Academy. "The guys came in and went right to work. They shampooed and dried hair and even did manicures and pedicures-though our pedicures stools will never be the same."
"When these young men found out what charity it was for, they didn't hesitate to attend," Head Coach Jon Norris said. "I'm not sure they knew exactly what they were getting themselves into, but I think they all enjoyed it."
The Spa-A-Thon raised money throughout the day Monday with all proceeds going to the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children.
"One lady said it was the best shampoo she had ever had and Ms. Pat said Kendrick (Bournes) did a good job on her pedicure," added Lee. "If the BattleWings take control of the football field like they did our school, âLord, help the other team'."
The BattleWings return to their true calling-playing football-this Saturday night at 7:00PM as they host the South Georgia Wildcats at The CenturyTel Center.
