Week in Review:

Wednesday, January 9th, 2012 vs. Tri-City Americans - 3-1 Loss

The Blazers came out blazing in the first period, but tailed off in a 3-1 home ice loss. Tim Bozon scored the game's first goal tapping home a rebound on the power play. The hockey club likely should have scored a couple more goals in the period, but goaltender Eric Comrie was on his game. The Americans scored a goal in the second and third periods to take the lead and added an empty net goal in the final seconds to win 3-1. Comrie was named first star making 33 saves for the Americans.

Friday, January 11th, 2013 at Prince George Cougars - 1-0 Loss

For the second straight game, the opposition goaltender was the story of the game. Brett Zarowny stopped 44 shots for a 1-0 win for Prince George. Jordan Tkatch scored the lone goal on a rebound as Cole Cheveldave made 21 saves in the loss. The Blazers fired a season high 44 shots on goal, but couldn't get the win.

Saturday, January 12th, 2013 vs. Prince George Cougars - 2-1 Win

Goals were hard to come by as Sam Grist won it 3:01 into overtime on a point shot. Dylan Willick opened the scoring for the Blazers and Colin Jacobs tied it up in the third period to send the game to overtime. For the third consecutive game, the opposition goaltender, Mac Engel, was named the game's first star. Cole Cheveldave was terrific earning the win making 26 saves.

Lipon and Ully in NHL Central Scouting Rankings

The Blazers had two players ranked in NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings. JC Lipon was ranked no. 96 and Cole Ully has been ranked no. 97 among North American skaters.

Scott Niedermayer Retirement Night Approaching

With the retirement of Scott Niedermayer's #28 on Friday, January 25th at ISC fast approaching, the Blazers are offering an additional incentive for fans to pick up their tickets early. Any tickets purchased in person or over the phone from the Kamloops Blazers Box Office at Interior Savings Centre from Monday, January 14th at 9am until Friday, January 18th at 5pm will enter the purchaser into a draw to win a framed and autographed 8x10 photo of Scott Niedermayer playing for Team Canada at the 2010 Olympic Games. Fans who purchase tickets during this time will receive one entry per ticket purchased. Blazers Rank 4th in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings

The Blazers are ranked 4th in the latest BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 with a 29-12-2-2 record. The hockey club has been ranked in the Top 10 all season, bouncing around the Top 5.

Blazers Sign 16-Year-Old Prospect Eric Krienke

The Kamloops Blazers have signed 16-year-old prospect Eric Krienke to a WHL education contract. Krienke is a ninth round pick of the Blazers in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft. To read more on Krienke, follow this link.
